April 5, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The “Battle of the Badges” Hockey game between the Saanich Police Watchdogs and the VicPD Capitals took place at Pearkes Arena on Thursday evening.

The Special Olympic Athletes were on hand to drop the puck at the opening ceremony and were a key factor in helping to coach the teams through a full 60 minutes of play.

The Saanich Police Watchdogs came out victorious, outscoring the VicPD’s Capitals, but the real winners in last night’s game were the Special Olympics British Columbia who were the beneficiaries of over $2400 raised for the event.
