Brossoit De-claws Tigers in 2-0 Shutout

April 8, 2013, Edmonton, AB (ISN) – Laurent Brossoit continued his stellar play as he led the Oil Kings to a 2-0 shutout of the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday. The recently signed Calgary Flames prospect posted 32 saves to give the Oil Kings a 2-0 series lead in their Eastern Conference Semi-final.

Brossoit’s shutout was his third of the 2013 post season and the fifth playoff shutout of his Oil Kings career. The Oil Kings netminder has only allowed a single goal against in the last four games between these two clubs.

Henrik Samuelsson and Cody Corbett notched the Oil Kings goals which both came on the power play. Edmonton ended the game 2 for 4 with the man advantage while holding the Tigers power play to 0 for 7. The Oil Kings league leading penalty kill has yet to allow a power play goal in these WHL playoffs going 33 for 33.

The Oil Kings will now depart Edmonton for Games 3 and 4 of their 2013 WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final series in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 10th.
