Partnering with local radio stations 100.3 The Q and The Zone 91.3 for the second year in a row, the Vikes held their fourth round of TLC Fund for Kids camps, this time featuring both basketball as well as cross-country and track.
Led by Vikes basketball and cross-country and track staff, coaches and players, the 50 participants helped to raise a total of $1,300 for the TLC Fund for Kids. The TLC Fund for Kids was established in 1988 as a means of raising money for any not-for-profit organizations in the Capital Regional District that dedicate themselves to children’s health, happiness and betterment of life.
“It was great to see so many kids excited about the sport of track and field,” said Brent Fougner, head coach of the Vikes men’s and women’s cross-country and track program. “It’s good for us to get more exposure in the community while contributing to such a worthy cause.”
