Saanich Offers Up Ribbons for QMS Equestrian Team

April 25, 2013,  Duncan, BC (ISN) – The Queen Margaret’s School Equestrian Team travelled south April 18th ‐ 21st to take part in one of their favourite annual competitions;  the Saanich Show in the Sun (SSITS).


Though rain was pouring throughout the entire weekend of competition, the riders from QMS were shining bright.

Instructed on site by QMS Head Coach, Cheryl Keith, the Equestrian Team took to the riding arena and earned the following results:

Emily Cake (Grade 7) ‐ Reserve Champion Pre Child/Adult Hunter and Champion in SSITS Hunter Division.

Cheyenne Djunaidi (Grade 8) ‐ Consistent placings in 2’9 Hunter and Jumper.

Christine Coels (Grade 9) ‐ Champion SSITS Stirrup and Reserve Champion Short Stirrup.

Trevyn Kellner (Grade 9) ‐ First place Pre Child Hunter, and many other ribbons.

Catherine Rankin (Grade 9) ‐ Champion Pre Green and Children’s Hunter.

Olivia Austin (Grade 10) ‐ First place 2’6 Jumper, and moved up to 2’9.

Lauren Bailey (Grade 11) ‐ First and second place 3’0 Jumper, and moved up to 3’3.

Claire Champernowne (Grade 11) ‐ Consistent placings in 3’6 Jumpers.

Ellie Graham (Grade 11) ‐ Champion Short Stirrup and Reserve Champion SSITS Stirrup.

Alice Young (Grade 11) ‐ Winner Mini CET Medal, and moved up to 3’9.
