Canada on podium again at international youth diving meet

April 27, 2013, Dresden, Germany (ISN) – Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu of St-Constant, Que., won the silver medal on Saturday in the women’s 16-18 age group one-metre at the International Youth Diving Meet.

It was Canada’s third medal of the competition which features many of the top junior divers in the world. Caeli McKay of Calgary won bronze in the women’s 14-15 age group one-metre on Thursday and Courtney Hattie and Emily Schmidt of Victoria were also third in the open women’s three-metre synchro event on Friday.

In the women’s 16-18 age group one-metre, Louisa Stawczynski of Germany was the winner with 403.95 points. Citrini-Beaulieu, the leader after the second and third round of the four-dive final, took the silver at 396.90. Samantha Maiorino, also of St-Constant was eighth.

Gabriel Corriveau and Felix Leathead, both of Montreal, were sixth and ninth in the boys 14-15 platform and Caeli McKay of Calgary 10th in the girls 14-15 three-metre.
