May 5, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria Highlander FC kicked off their 2013 Pacific Development League season with a victory, tallying three goals against the Kitsap Pumas.

Thomas Mallet broke the deadlock in the 17th minute of play with Brett Levis earning an assist. Mallet nearly netted a second in the 26th minute, firing a shot right above the crossbar.

Brett Levis increased the lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute, lobbing a ball over goaltender Dustin Brym that found the back of the net.

Kitsap looked to get on the scoreboard when they were assessed a penalty shot in the 77th minute. However, a low strike to the right corner was denied by Highlanders goalkeeper Joel Wilson.
