May 7, 2013, Brandon, MB (ISN) – Members of the Western Hockey League’s Wheat Kings will be busy this week as Brandon’s four McDonalds Restaurants will host the 2013 McHappy Day.
McHappy Day, which is scheduled for this Wednesday, May 8th, is a special tradition for McDonalds Restaurants across Canada as it brings together employees, customers, suppliers and special guests to raise money to help children in need.
$1 from the sale of each Big Mac sandwich, Happy Meal and hot McCafe sold in Brandon and Neepawa on May 8th will be donated to the Westman Dreams for Kids.
Several Wheat Kings, including defencemen Ryan Pulock and Eric Roy will be working at the Richmond Avenue McDonalds from 4-5 pm. They will be joined by coaches Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Darren Ritchie as well as several members of the hockey club’s front office staff.
This year marks the 19th McHappy Day in Canada. Since it was first introduced, the national one-day fundraising event has raised nearly $38 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
First celebrated in Canada, McHappy Day is now a worldwide event which unites McDonalds restaurants globally in support of children in need in local communities.
