May 10, 2013, Ottawa, On (ISN) – Excitement is in the air as the first events of Hershey’s Track & Field Games Day in Canada 2013 are just around the corner.
In all 20 Hershey’s Track & Field Games events will happen in communities across the country with the first two tomorrow in Grande Prairie, Alta., at the Peace County Hershey Meet and in Winnipeg, Man., at the University of Manitoba Hershey Meet.
Hershey’s Track & Field Games Day in Canada activities will feature two-time Olympian and World Champion Perdita Felicien of Pickering, Ont., attending the Central Hershey’s Track & Field Games Meet on May 24 in Carman, Manitoba. Felicien will spend the day encouraging and signing autographs for the thousand or so expected participants. “I can’t wait for May 24 in Carman to spend time with the future of my sport,” said the ten-time national champion.
Felicien adds, “I think it’s really important to give back and be part of grassroots activities like this. The Hershey’s program provides an excellent opportunity for youths to try the sport, if I can help out and provide the inspiration I just think that’s a perfect fit.”
