May 15, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – General Manager Holly Jones is pleased to announce that the Victoria HarbourCats will be working with the Steve Nash Foundation as one of the team’s Official Community Partners.
Saturday, July 27 will be “Steve Nash Foundation Night” at Royal Athletic Park with the HarbourCats taking on the Corvallis Knights. Jenny Miller, Executive Director of the Steve Nash Foundation said, “We’re excited that our hometown HarbourCats are supporting the work we’re doing with great health and education initiatives across BC, and here at home. We hope that this game will offer fans the opportunity to learn more about local efforts to increase access to those resources that grow health in kids, and get involved themselves in improving outcomes for children throughout Victoria.”
Fans will also be able to make contributions to the Foundation, which will go towards assisting underserved children in their health, personal development, education and enjoyment of life in British Columbia and beyond. HarbourCats fans that “make an assist” and donate during the game will receive children’s Steve Nash Charity T-Shirts. The HarbourCats will also be giving away an autographed Steve Nash jersey at the game to a lucky fan.
Holly Jones said, “Steve Nash is the most prominent professional athlete to come out of Victoria and the HarbourCats are thrilled to have his support. We are excited to be able to work with Steve to give back to this amazing community.” For more information about the Steve Nash Foundation, please visit stevenash.org.
