May 17, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Peninsula Co-op Highlander Katie Krautner has been named to the 2013 Canadian Women’s National Tournament (WNT) EXCELeration Camp roster.

The second- year senior Highlander and former U-20 development camp player joins the WNT camp in its inaugural year, an initiative that is intended to bridge the gap between the Canadian U-20 level and the senior program.

“Katie has earned her right to get an opportunity to play at that level,” says Woman’s Head Coach Dave Dew. “She’s worked so hard over her time with the Highlanders program and she’s finally getting a reward for all her hard work.”

Dew has been involved with Krautner’s development for the previous four seasons and notes her role as an integral component with the USL Super-20 Team of the Year as an example of her strong playing potential.
