May 18, 2013, Victoria, B.C. (ISN) – Bear season is upon us and on Thursday night the Westshore Bears played host to the visiting Peninsula Warriors who came to Bear Mountain Arena to play.
Six goals were scored during the first period and five of them were in favor of the Bears. Jonny Fifield opened the scoring and then Travis Lang followed suit but Brett Wilson for the Warriors answered back, scoring on Wil Chiasson and putting his team on the board. Three more goals were scored by the Bears, one by Chris O’Hara and a pair by Tristan Calve ending the period with a score of 5-1 for the Bears.

The Bears’ Adam Donald opened the second period but the Warriors answered back with three consecutive goals. One by Tyler Flint and two by Brett Wilson, one which was unassisted. The Bears’ Tyson Marsh buried one in behind Jericho Paul, unassisted, but the Warriors finished the period with one last goal sent in by David Sam. Score after forty minutes, 7-5 Bears.

During the third period only two goals were scored and both were in favor of the Bears. One from Travis Lang, his second of the night, and the other from Aaron Burnell. Final score: 9-5 Bears. The Bears next home game will be on the 23rd May 2013 at 8:00 when it will be the Saanich Tigers’ turn to play.
