May 19, 2013, Victoria, B.C. (ISN) – On Saturday night at Archie Browning Arena, the Eves of Destruction presented the Belles of the Brawl taking on The Trampires. The arena was crowded with fans of all ages as they spent a part of their May long weekend enjoying the fun filled evening.
At the start of the game, a pack of skaters called ‘Blockers’ prepare to take off. Behind them are the two ‘Jammers’, they have the stars on their helmets. The whistle blows once and the jammers along with the pack take off — the jam is underway.

The Jammers work to get through the pack. The first time through, the Jammers try to beat each other in and around the pack to become the ‘Lead Jammer’. Jammers don’t score on the first pass. On subsequent passes, the Jammers can score points. The Blockers block the opposing Jammer while simultaneously trying to get their Jammer through.

It may sound easy, but there is a lot of strategy out there on the track, it’s hard work and action packed. These girls mean business, and if you let your guard down you’re in for a world of hurt!
The nights results were 219-160 in favor of the Belles of the Brawl.
The next home bout will be at Archie Browning on June 22nd when the Margarita Villains meet the Northwest Derby Company. Doors open at 6:00 pm, whistle at 7:00.
