May 27, 2013, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – The Saskatoon Blades have announced that defenceman Dalton Thrower has been traded to the Vancouver Giants.

In return for the Montreal Canadiens prospect, the Blades receive a conditional 2nd round WHL Bantam Draft pick. The Blades will only receive the pick if Thrower returns to the WHL next season.

Thrower has spent the last 4 seasons as a member of the Saskatoon Blades, appearing in 243 regular season games over that span. He’s registered 30 goals, 108 points and 344 PIMs in his regular season WHL career and another 5 points in 26 career playoff games.

Thrower was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens after scoring a career-high 18 goals and 54 points in 2011-12.

The Blades would like to wish Dalton all the best going forward both on and off the ice.
