June 11, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Nine Greater Victoria 12 and unders represented Eagle Ridge Inline Roller Hockey this past weekend in Langford at the NARCH regional qualifier.
The young lads were coached by John Howard and Bill Sidaway and fought a two game series for the gold medal round against a very strong North Vancouver Zulu Team.

The opening game took place Saturday afternoon with the score going back and forth with Eagle Ridge getting out to an early lead, goals by Ben with follow up goals by Tres. Eagle Ridge held the lead with just a few minutes to go when North Vancouver roared back to tie the game.

Ending the last game in a tie, it was sure to be a grudge match between both teams. Playing for gold in the evening, the game went back and forth with outstanding goal tending by Dylan to hold North Van off for the win (2 to 1) for the goal medal. Other Eagle Ridge Teams competing were the Peewee, Bantam and Men’s team’s, complete results were not yet available.

The Eagle Ridge Youth Roller Hockey League is a great community sports organization that brings together children as young as 6 all the way up to age 17 for mid week practices and games on the weekend. There is a fall schedule that runs in September, a Winter Schedule as well as a spring and summer schedule.
