June 24, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – This week’s Bayview Player of the Match is Sarah Douglas. Sarah Douglas took the pitch at half time in Sunday’s 6-0 defeat of NSGSC Eagles and provided a spark for the Highlanders.

The midfielder tallied a goal and an assist in her 45 minutes of play while being an integral part in sequences leading up to the other two goals of the half.

In the 54′ minute, Douglas crossed the ball across the field to where it was open for the Highlanders. Mariel Solsberg took her pass and put it on Jackie Harrison’s boot. Harrison put it away to give the team a 3-0 lead. Douglas was able to show off her footwork in the 54′ where she put on a move and shook the defender free, giving her an open look to Aby Raymer who was able to score the team’s fourth of the game. She scored one of her own in the 71′ after taking a pass from Kristin Livingstone and burying it from close to the net. She put her footprint on the next goal, just a minute later, when she crossed it in the Eagles’ end to Liz Hansen. Hansen found Raymer who was able to score her second of the game.

Douglas is chosen as this week’s Bayview Player of the Match because of her ability to create chances in the offensive zone and because she is able to inject energy into the team when it is needed.
