2013-14 Kamloops Blazers Schedule

June 26, 2013, Kamloops, BC (ISN) – The Kamloops Blazers will open the 2013-14 WHL season on home ice hosting the Kelowna Rockets on Friday, September 20th at 7:00pm at the Interior Savings Centre. The Blazers will be in Kelowna on Saturday, September 21st for their first road game of the season.

The schedule itself is evened out throughout the year with the Blazers playing four games in September, 12 in October and November, 11 in December, 13 in January, 13 in February and seven in March.

The Blazers will play two afternoon home games this season beginning with hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes on October 14th, the Thanksgiving Monday. The Blazers will also host a home game at 2:00pm on Monday, February 10th against the Tri-City Americans. February 10th, 2014 is B.C. Family Day.

Some notes from the 2013-14 schedule:

· The home schedule will feature 22 weekend home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night.

· The defending WHL Champion Portland Winterhawks will play in Kamloops on Saturday, November 16th and Friday, February 14th.

· The Blazers will make the long trek to the East Division before the Christmas break playing six games in eight nights. The Blazers will start in Brandon on December 10th and end in Swift Current on December 17th.

· From February 16th until March 8th, the Blazers will play 10 straight games on the road as the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier takes over Interior Savings Centre.

· The Blazers will go to the Central Division for games in Red Deer, Calgary and Medicine Hat. The Blazers will not play in Edmonton, Lethbridge or Cranbrook.

· The schedule features 10 games against Prince George, and eight each versus Vancouver, Kelowna and Victoria.
