Cougars Announce Their 2013-2014 Regular Season Schedule

June 26, 2013, Prince George, BC (ISN) – For a second straight regular season the Prince George Cougars will start south of the border.

Earlier this morning the Western Hockey League published the complete regular season schedule for the 2013-2014 season, and on Friday, September 20th, the Cougars will provide the first test for the defending Western Hockey League champion Portland Winterhawks.

That first U.S. trip also includes stops in Everett (September 21st) and Tri-City (September 22nd) before the Cougars return home for their Home Opener.

The first of 36 home games at the CN Centre goes Friday, September 27th against the Kamloops Blazers. That night the Cougars will wear special commemorative jerseys to celebrate their 20th season in Prince George.

Cougars fans will get their first look at the 2013 WHL Champion Portland Winterhawks on Monday, February 10th 2014 and again on Wednesday, February 12th, 2014.

This season, the Prince George Cougars will host their annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss on Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 PM against the Tri-City Americans. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed toy, or a toque to toss onto the ice after the Cougars score their first goal of the game.

Every second season, the Prince George Cougars head East to Saskatchewan and Manitoba to face the six Eastern Conference teams. That trip begins with the Regina Pats on Friday, January 24th, 2014 and ends with the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday, February 1st, 2014.

Overall, the Prince George Cougars will play 12 home games on a Friday night, with an additional 13 games being played on a Saturday. Six home games will be played on a Tuesday, four on a Wednesday and one on a Monday.

The final regular season home game will take place on Saturday, March 15th against the Kamloops Blazers.
