200 hours of live streaming on FISU.tv

July 2, 2013, KAZAN, Russia (CIS) – With three days to go before the start of the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) unveiled the streaming programming on FISU.tv, including many events featuring Canadian student-athletes.

Starting with the opening ceremonies at Kazan Arena Stadium on Saturday all the way through the closing ceremonies on July 17, more than 200 hours of live streaming and video-on-demand content will be available on www.fisu.tv, showing a selection of live events and highlights from the majority of the 27 sports on the FISU Games program.

In individual competition, Canadians will be featured in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, athletics, diving, swimming and weightlifting. Athletics will receive approximately four hours of live coverage daily from July 7 to 12, while swimming finals will be streamed every night from July 10 to 16.

In team sports, the only Canadian game confirmed in the preliminary rounds is the much-anticipated men’s basketball tilt against the United States on July 12 at 1 p.m. Kazan Time (5 a.m. Eastern Time). More Team Canada content could be added from July 12 to 17 once basketball, beach volleyball, soccer, volleyball and water polo move to the playoff rounds.
