Cougars Select Slovakian David Soltes Fourth Overall in 2013 CHL Import Draft.

July 3, 2013, Prince George, BC (ISN) – With the fourth overall selection in the 2013 CHL Import Draft, the Prince George Cougars have selected 1995-born Slovakian forward David Soltes.

Soltes (6’0″, 183 pounds) is a right-handed shooting winger who scored 13 goals, 16 points and 60 penalty minutes in 19 games with Hockey Club Kosice U-20. The product of Kosice tallied seven goals and 18 points in 18 games with Slovakia’s U-18 International team. He then scored four goals and one assist in six games with Slovakia at the 2013 World Under-18 Championships.

Other notable Slovakian players who have suited up for the Cougars include: Zdeno Chara (Boston Bruins), Martin Marincin (Edmonton Oilers prospect), Marek Viedensky (San Jose Sharks prospect), Ronald Petrovicky (Six NHL seasons).
