Liz Hansen Named Bayview Player of the Match

July 3, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Peninsula Co-op Highlanders went 2-0 this weekend defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC at home and then travelling to Vancouver and beating TSS Academy. Both games were 3-2 decisions.

Hansen had four goals this weekend, moving her up to second on the scoring chart in the Pacific Coast Soccer League’s Premier Women’s Division with 10.

The Bayview honors are awarded for Hansen’s performance against the Whitecaps. She scored all three of the team’s goals. Her first came in the 11′ minute off a corner kick by Katie Kraeutner. It looked as though the Whitecaps’ keeper made the save but referees signalled that it crossed the line. The next goal came in the 44′ minute after Elise Wyatt broke through the defense and got the ball to Kraeutner, who was then able to get it Hansen. Hansen scored her second goal; meanwhile Kraeutner had her second assist of the game. The hat trick was capped of in the 55′ minute off a feed from Jackie Harrison.

Hansen was able to score three goals off a team that had only given up 10 in their previous 13 games making her Bayview Player of the Match.
