July 4, 2013, PRINCE GEORGE, BC (ISN) – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are pleased to announce the addition of Max McHugh for the 2013-14 season.
Max McHugh, a ’93 born 5′ 10″ 175 pound forward from Edgewood, WA, played the last three seasons for the Wenatchee Wild of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). McHugh, who shoots left, is a solid two-way centre that has proven to be an effective play maker totalling 105 points (41G, 64A) in 132 games played and another 14 points (5G, 9A) in 17 playoff games.
“We’re very happy to be able to add a player and person like Max to our organization,” said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. “Max is a highly skilled player in all areas of the game as well as being a focused person with a lot of character. He will play a huge role in our team’s successes on and off the ice this coming season.”
“Prince George is the team I wanted to play for,” said Max McHugh. “They have shown a commitment to moving players to the next level. They have had some really good seasons and, with a good group of players coming back and recruited so far, I expect big things from the team this season.”
“One of my goals is to do whatever I can to help the Spruce Kings go deep in the playoffs and get to the RBC,” added McHugh. “Of course earning a Division I NCAA scholarship is a big personal goal of mine.”
McHugh is preparing for the start of the Spruce Kings main training camp August 23-25 in the Prince George Coliseum.
