Shamrocks Take Out Saints

July 8, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – After defeating the Port Coquitlam Saints 23 to 5 on Saturday in Victoria on Saturday, the same two teams squared off in Port Coquitlam Sunday with similar results as the Rocks came home with a 21 to 3 victory.

Leading the way for the Rocks was Jake Cullen with 3 goals and 6 assists fro 9 points, Jesse King was right behind him with 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points. Getting 5 points each were Chris Wardle and Justine Appels with 3 and 2 each, Jordan Cunningham with 2 and 3 and Dominik Pesek with 5 assists.

Max Cullen chipped in 2 goals and singles were scored by Dane Sorensen, Conrad Chapman and Jamie Sorensen.

This concludes the regular season for the Junior Shamrocks who finished in a two way tie with Langley for third but were relegated to the four seed by means of the tie breaker.

This means the Rocks will take on the 5th place Delta Islanders in the best of three first round of the play offs beginning Saturday at Panorama Recreation center at 5:30 PM. Game two will be in the Ladner arena starting the same time on Sunday and game three if necessary will be Tuesday the 16th at 5:00 at Bear Mountain.
