July 9, 2013 Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria HarbourCats woes continue as they struggled on the mound and at the plate, as 1187 fans witnessed an 11-2 shellacking by the Walla Walla Sweets on Tuesday night.

Will Ballowe got his first start for the ‘Cats and it didn’t go well as he gave up a walk to the first batter he faced, Kramer Lindell, then a 2 run homerun from John Skerbec put Victoria down 2-0 early. Ballowe’s night would come to a close in the 3rd inning after a pair of walks loaded the bases.

Scott Kuzminsky took to the mound with none out and the base loaded. After getting Nick Vilter to fly out a pair of singles from Mike Poulson and Renae Martinez along with a double off the bat of Dominc Miroglio and the Sweets had a comfortable 6-0 lead.

Walla Walla would build on that lead in the 4th inning when Poulson hit for a single that scored a pair and gave him his 3rd and 4th RBI’s on the night.

Victoria showed a little spark in the 5th when they got runners in scoring postion but were unable to capitalize. They did manage to break through in the 6th with a pair of runs, a solo homer from Robby Nesovic and RBI single to Austin Russell that scored John Schuknecht, to cut the Walla Walla lead to 8-2.
