July 10, 2013, Prince Albert, SK (ISN) – The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave and a 4th round pick in in the 2015 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for prospect Jake Kryski and a 7th round selection in 2014.

Cheveldave appeared in 111 games over the past two seasons with the Blazers, posting a record of 70-27-3-4 along with a 2.50 goals against average and .908 save percentage. The Calgary, Alberta product has recorded 10 shutouts over the previous two seasons in Kamloops.

The veteran netminder led the Blazers to the 2013 Western Conference Final, before falling to the WHL Champion Portland Winterhawks. Cheveldave has played in 20 post-season contests since entering the league in 2011, posting 13 wins and a 2.85 goals against average as well as a .902 save percentage.

“Cole is a proven winner and leader. His experiences will generate a positive impact on our goaltending situation for this season and he will be a mentor for our young, talented goaltenders in our system,” said Raiders General Manager Bruno Campese.
