July 14, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – We are now only 26 days away until 30 Youth hit the floors at Frank Crane Arena to attempt to beat the Official Guinness World Record for the World’s Longest Indoor Hockey Game which is currently set at 50 hours of straight hockey while raising money for Big Brothers Big, Sisters of Central Vancouver Island.

We are still in the look for more volunteers, sponsors and players to complete the event; if you would like to volunteer please contact Tania Brzovic at cycworker@yahoo.ca or (250) 740.2792, if you would like to sponsor contact Bob Toor (250) 756.6596 or kittyshack@shaw.ca or if you are interested in playing contact Tali Campbell (250) 618.3168 or Tali@BigsCVI.ca.

The team also has a new focus in mind as last week one of the players from last year died in car crash while heading home, Gage Wilson was only 16 years old and was a great friend to many of the players on the team.

Board President Tali Campbell said he was a battler “he joined the game late last year but jumped right in and helped play over 50 hours of hockey and helping raise over $6000 in charity.”

The team has decided to do this game in memory of Gage Wilson “We have decided to put on all of the back of the jerseys “#ForGage” at the request of the team.” noted Tali.

The game will take place from August 9th – 11th at Frank Crane Arena; the ball gets dropped at 3:30PM sharp. Hope to see you there
