Blades Trainer Named To Team Canada

July 16, 2013, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – Saskatoon Blades trainer Steve ‘Hilty’ Hildebrand is set to join Team Canada for the upcoming 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Hildebrand has been named as one of two equipment managers for Team Canada at the event, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden from December 26th, 2013 until January 5th, 2014. For Hildebrand, it will be his 4th time representing Team Canada and his 3rd time at a IIHF

World Junior Championship. He was the trainer for Team Canada at the Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Tournament in the Czech Republic in 2002. His two appearances at the IIHF World Junior Championships came in 2003 in Halifax and in 2010 in Saskatoon.

Hildebrand is currently entering his 13th season behind the bench as trainer of the Saskatoon Blades. His other career stops include time with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers and in the CIS with the Manitoba Bisons.
