July 18, 2013, Kelowna, BC (ISN) – With seven players taken in the last two NHL Entry Drafts, Kelowna Rockets players have been keeping themselves busy this summer attending various NHL prospects camps.

More than half of the Rockets draft-eligible returning players have attended an NHL prospect camp this summer and several will be back in their NHL city’s later this year when NHL training camps open prior to the start of the NHL season.

The 2012 draft class is led by Rockets captain Colton Sissons (Nashville), who attended his second prospects camp after being drafted in 2012’s second round. Defenceman Damon Severson (New Jersey) as well as Ryan Olsen (Winnipeg) also attended camps for the second time this summer.

As far as the 2013 drafts, both Madison Bowey (Washington, 2nd round) and Tyrell Goulbourne (Philadelphia, 3rd round) attended their rookie camps with Goulbourne blogging about his experience in Philadelphia for

“This organization really welcomes you here and makes things comfortable for you, so for me, I really want to work hard for them in return… and chase my dream of playing in the NHL someday,” he wrote. ” I can’t wait for it to get here and get back to rookie camp in the fall.”

Fellow 2013 draft picks Mitchell Wheaton (Detroit) and Myles Bell (New Jersey) also attended camps after being picked in this summer’s NHL Entry Draft while players Colton Heffley (Minnesota) and Jackson Whistle (Chicago) received prospects camp invites.
