Field Sponsorship

Velox Rugby Club is the biggest rugby organization on Vancouver Island with teams and programs in men’s, women’s and youth rugby.

Our main source of income to run our programs and maintain our facilities is from government grants and bar revenue from community events held at our clubhouse.

Due to strict enforcement of liquor licensing being implemented in Saanich, Velox has applied for a fulltime liquor license. The downside to this application, we have a limited amount of events we are able to host meaning we have had a significant decrease in revenue.

With a new season fast approaching, Velox is in dire need of funds to repair our field. We have designed a new sponsorship program to raise funds quickly but also give local businesses a great deal and maximum exposure through sponsorship.

Up until August 15th, Velox RFC is offering a $250 sponsorship package that includes the following:

– 4×8 business sign placement at our local grounds for the 2013-14 season, with exposure to our fans over 40 senior home games and numerous age grade games. (business to provide sign.)

– Logo placement in printed programs for game days

– Two paragraph advertisement in our weekly e-newsletter that has a distribution of over a 1000 members.

All of the stated benefits for businesses add up to a lot of exposure to a varied audience that other businesses already involved in the club have flourished.

Rep Rugby

One more junior representing Velox at the Provincial Regional Championships has been brought to my attention: Lydia Toorenburgh played #7 with the Island Tsunami squad in the women’s U18 division, helping them to win silver. She has also been selected to play with the BC squad heading to Nationals in August. Congratulations, Lydia!

Jess Dovanne’s name has popped up lately too. She has been selected to the Canada 15’s squad to play in the Nations Cup coming in in Colorado, July 30th to August 10th. Former Valkyrie Meghan Gibbs is also on the squad, which will have games against England, South Africa, and USA.
