August 21, 2013 – Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Q’s Victoria Run Series’ final race of the 2013 season is happening Sunday, September 15th. The race is named the Synergy Shuffle and offers two unique and rarely used distances: 20k and 30k, as well as the popular 10k distance.
“The September 15th, Synergy Shuffle is timed perfectly for anyone planning on competing in the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon event that is happening on October 13th. As a final long effort, the 30k is ideal for those targeting the marathon, the 20k is a great tune-up for those racing the half-marathon and the 10k is on a fast course,” said race director Christopher Kelsall.
The event is taking place in Central Saanich and starts and finishes at Island View Road and Lochside Trail, beside Michell’s Farm Market. All three races will use a 10 kilometre loop that runs south on Lochside Trail and includes Hunt and Martindale roads before returning to the flat Lochside Trail again. The course offers small rolling hills and long, flat stretches throughout. The 30k will take runners over the 10k course three times, twice for the 20k and one loop for the 10k.
Registration is now open at www.victoriarunseries.com.
The Q’s Victoria Run Series events take place on the roads and tracks of Greater Victoria and operate from early May to mid-September. Season Pass holders to the series do not pay extra for the Synergy Shuffle.
Proceeds from The Q’s Victoria Run Series are directed to the Mustard Seed Food Bank. The series includes eight race events that are open to all abilities as well as a season-ending silent auction and awards night.
