August 26, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – On Sunday morning the Victoria Grizzlies traveled down to Port Alberni to play in their second exhibition game of the 2013/14 season and this game a much better result for the Grizzlies then the first time around.

The Grizzlies started Alec Dillon in net with Chris Smith backing him up, the Fitzgerald Triplets, Aaron Azvedo, Stephen Burzan, Mark McLellan, Duncan Cochrane, Ryan Carson, Nick Guiney, Hobin Zink, Jordan Martin and Jacob Malloch up front while Brandon Egli, Alex Adams, Chris Albertini, Kevin Massy, Mackenzie Valentine and Tomba Huddlestan on defense.

The Bulldogs got into some penalty trouble early on in the first period where Josh Cronin got two minutes for tripping and the Grizzlies capitalized on it as Chris Albertini snuck one in assisted by Leo Fitzgerald. Three more goals would be scored in the first period, first by Grizzlies Kevin Massy, then the Bulldogs would sneak one by Alec Dillon and to finish the period off Kevin Massy would get his second goal of the night to make it 3-1 Grizzlies.

In the second period the Grizzlies were back on the powerplay where a trickling puck in the crease where Leo Fitzgerald would net it home to take the 4-1 lead, that would end up being the only second period goal.

Victoria bench boss Bill Bestwick would switch out Dillon and put in Chris Smith for the third period and early in the third period again on the powerplay Victoria would capitalize, Myles Fitzgerald would put one in to take the 5-1 lead. Victoria would end up getting one more by Gerry Fitzgerald and with 12 second to go Bulldogs would get a breakaway to score on Chirs Smith but it wasn’t enough as the Grizzlies would win the game 6-2.
