August 26, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Enthusiastic participants turned out in droves yesterday at Royal Roads University for the inaugural Easter Seals Splash of Color Family Fun Run.
The event, the first of its kind on the Island, raised more than $30,000 for Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan, a specialized camp for Island children with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Over 500 participants ran through the trails on the grounds of Royal Roads while being “splashed” with colored powder at various points along the route. For more information, or to register for next year’s event, visit http://www.splashofcolor.ca/
Next up for Easter Seals is the Drop Zone, taking place September 12th. Brave participants will have the opportunity to rappel 13 storeys down the CIBC building in downtown Victoria. Fundraising incentive prizes are up for grabs, including 2 tickets aboard WestJet to any destination in North America, including Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean.
