Five-time defending Hardy Cup champ Dinos #3 among CIS coaches

August 27, 2013, Edmonton, AB (ISN) – With five straight Canada West football titles, the University of Calgary Dinos opened the season ranked #3 by Canadian Interuniversity Sport coaches in the Football Reporters of Canada CIS Top 10 poll on Tuesday, while 2012 Vanier Cup champion Laval tops the charts and the Queen’s Gaels are second.

The Dinos, which open the 2013 season at UBC on Saturday afternoon, finished with 137 voting points, well back of Laval and just four behind Queen’s. Other Canada West schools to crack the Top 10 were #9 Saskatchewan and #10 Manitoba, with Regina also receiving some votes.

Full Canada West Universities Athletic Association preseason football rankings will be released on Wednesday.
