August 29, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – St. Anthony’s Pharmacy and Colwood Rotary Club’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament to be held at the Olympic View Golf Course, Thursday September 5th 2013.
Our net income from the tournament will be split equally between the Salvation Army’s Beacon of Hope House that aids in the treatment of crystal meth addictions and our Rotary Picnic Playground at West Shore Parks & Recreation. This playground is inclusive of supporting children living with disabilities and phase one of the construction has started. This new playground will not only have the latest in children’s park equipment but will also include features for children with disabilities and wheel chair accessible surfacing. Through the generous support of the community, over $173,620 has already been raised towards this $244,000 project.
About The Rotary Club of Colwood
Following its mandate of service above self and cultural awareness, each year, this small club of under 20 people donates over $20,000 in support of local and international projects and organizations. From working with community and business to fund an orphanage in Haiti, providing disaster relief shelter boxes and supporting local programs such as Westshore Mom’s and Mentors, Angel Flight, Scouts Canada, Juan de Fuca Seniors Centre, Victoria Children’s Choir, Velox Rubby, and giving Scholarships to Belmont Secondary Students, members provide an invaluable service to both the local and global community. The Rotary’s New Generation programs, including youth scholarships and youth international exchanges, help build youth involvement in community service,
Any assistance in promoting this event is greatly appreciated as the funding is returned back into the community.
