September 5, 2013, Chilliwack, BC – Former Vancouver Canucks defenceman Harold Snepsts and former Canucks forward Ron Delorme have been named the honorary co-chairmen of the Bauer BCHL Showcase, which starts Friday in Chilliwack.

Snepsts and Delorme combined to play almost 1,000 games for the Canucks in their careers. Snepsts also spent time with the Minnesota North Stars, Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues while Delorme spent five seasons with the Colorado Rockies before joining the Canucks in 1981. Both players are best remembered for their rugged playing styles and their respective roles in the Canucks’ 1982 run to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Today, Snepsts and Delorme continue to work for the Canucks organization in scouting roles. Delorme is the team’s chief amateur scout and Snepsts works alongside him, also focused on amateur players.

Both men will be at ice level before Saturday night’s 7 p.m. feature game between the Powell River Kings and the event host Chilliwack Chiefs to perform the ceremonial faceoff.
