CIS Top 10: Trinity Western still tops in women’s soccer, UBC men slip to #4

September 10, 2013, EDMONTON – With a draw in their lone game so far this season, the Trinity Western Spartans women’s soccer team has the respect of coaches across Canadian Interuniversity Sport as they remain #1 in the latest Top 10 poll.

The Victoria Vikes (1-0-0) drop one spot to #4, while the UBC Thunderbirds (0-0-1) are up three positions to #7.

In men’s soccer, a an early-season loss by UBC (1-1-0) caused a drop from #1 to #4, as the Alberta Golden Bear fall to 0-0-1 falls to #6, from third last week and the Saskatchewan Huskies (2-0-0) join the rankings at #10.

While Canada West women’s rugby does not get underway until September 20, several teams moved higher after St. FX split a pair of matches. The Alberta Pandas come in at #2, up one spot, with the Calgary Dinos and Lethbridge Pronghorns remaining #7 and #8, respectively.
