September 13, 2013, Vancouver, BC – The BC Lions (6-4) host the Montreal Alouettes (4-6) on Sunday, September 15 at 1:30 pm at BC Place.

Coming off a frustrating 37-29 loss in Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week, the Lions look to get back on track and split their season series against the Als on home turf. In their last meeting in late August, the Leos were bested by just a single point in a heart-breaking 39-38 loss on the road in Montreal.

The stats are in the Lion’s favour, however, as the team tops the league in home wins with a 5-0 record so far this year and a string of wins over Montreal that currently stands at 11 of the past 12 home games dating back to 2000. The Lions have become beasts at home having won 17 of 18 regular season games at BC Place since returning to their renovated digs in 2011.

Next week, the Lions will be heading into back-to-back road games in Regina and Winnipeg with just a four-day turnaround in between, so capitalizing on home field advantage is all the more important Sunday afternoon.

This weekend’s game marks the Lions’ annual salute to Amateur Football in BC which coincides with the presentation of the BC Football Hall of Fame’s 2013 induction class. In addition to honouring this year’s inductees throughout the game, eight local minor football teams will be featured in four separate games at halftime.

All Sunday’s fun starts at 11:30 am on the Terry Fox Plaza with the BC Lions Street Party presented by Nissan. In addition to balloon figures, the Lions inflatable, face painting, poster making, interactive games and a performance by the 2013 Felions, fans will also be treated to great music.

The first 10,000 fans through the gates on Sunday afternoon will receive clappers courtesy of presenting sponsor TELUS.

Tickets in the Gemstone Gridiron Deck ($30) and Freshslice Family Zone ($25) are available at
