September 15, 2013, Brandon, MB (ISN) – The Brandon Wheat Kings have assigned two players to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as they begin preparations for next weekend’s Western Hockey League regular season opening series with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Brandon has sent 17-year old right-winger Jordan Bochinski to the Steinbach Pistons and 17-year old left-winger Taylor Sanheim to the Winkler Flyers.

“Both players were part of a deep group of forwards at this age group,” says Wheat Kings general manager / head coach Kelly McCrimmon. “We knew all along there would be difficult decisions getting our roster numbers down.”

Sunday’s moves leaves the Wheat Kings with twenty-eight players on their roster – two goalkeepers, ten defencemen and sixteen forwards.

The Wheat Kings, who finished the pre-season with a 3-1-0 record will open up their 2013-14 regular season on Friday, September 20th in Moose Jaw, before returning home to host the Warriors the following night at Westman Place. Tickets to the 2013 Home Opener are on sale at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling (204) 726-3555 or online at
