*Mount Douglas vs Terry Fox Game Summary In a heavyweight battle between #1 and #2, the contest lived up to its billing as the Varsity Rams defeated Terry Fox by a score of 28 to 23 in a thrilling contest. Marcus Davis picked off Terry Fox in the end zone with just over 1 minute to go in the game to preserve the lead and seal the victory for the Rams. Really, there is not a whole lot of discrimination between these 2 evenly matched teams, as evidenced by the tight score.
Marcus Davis was an impact player on both sides of the ball once again for the Rams. In addition to his last minute end zone pick, Marcus had an earlier end zone interception snuffing out another drive by Terry Fox plus recorded 5 solo tackles. Julian Luis led the Rams defense in tackles with 6, followed by Jonah Merino with 4 plus a huge QB sack early in the game, Alec Wong had 4 tackles, Sean Waugh with 3, James Nicholas with 3, Foster McGee with 3, Peter Elwood had 2 plus a sack, Ross Faulkner with 2, Christian Krause had 2 and Zach Wilkinson finished with 2 tackles as well.
On the offensive side of the ball, Marcus rumbled for 211 yards on 16 carries and 2 TD’s, while Julian Luis rushed 13 times for 123 yards and 2 majors. As a team, the Rams tallied 375 yards on the ground…another stellar game for Rams offensive line opening up running lanes for the Mount Douglas backfield. Julian was the leading receiver with 2 catches for 28 yards. Ashton MacKinnon powered in for a 2 point convert, while Callum Duke kicked 2 converts.
