September 17, 2013, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – The Saskatoon Blades are proud to announce the acquisition of goaltender Troy Trombley from the Tri-City Americans.

In exchange for Trombley, the Blades surrender a fifth round draft pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Trombley is a 1994-born goaltender from Sherwood Park, Alberta. The 6’6 goalie appeared in 16 games for the Tri-City Americans last season, posting a record of 8-4-1-1 with a 2.92 goals against average, .911 save percentage and one shutout. Trombley was drafted into the WHL by the Kamloops Blazers, being selected in the third round, 45th overall, in 2009.

The move gives the Saskatoon Blades a roster of 25 players, including three goalies, 8 defencemen and 14 forwards.

The draft pick in the trade was a pick that originally was acquired from Tri-City when the Blades traded Jessey Astles to the Americans in June.

The Saskatoon Blades are extremely happy and proud to welcome Troy and his family to the organization.
