Rebels Send Rylan Toth To AAA Midget and Trade Ness To Kamloops

September 17, 2013, Red Deer, AB (ISN)– Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the reassignment 17-year old goaltender Rylan Toth. He will return to Battlefords of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League.

Also announced today, 16-year old defenceman Austin Shmoorkoff has returned to the Rebels from the Canadian Athletic Club AAA midgets in Edmonton.

Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the trade of 20-year old forward Tyson Ness to the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for a 3rd round selection in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Tyson Ness is entering his fourth year in the WHL, he was a 7th round pick of the Rebels in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft and has played 213 games in a Rebels uniform, scoring 48 goals and 43 assists for 91 career points.

Each team in the WHL is allowed three, 20-year old (1993 born) players on their roster. All teams must be down to three 20-year olds by October 15th. With the return of Lukas Sutter to the Rebels from the Winnipeg Jets, the Rebels were one 20-year old over the limit before this deal. Patrik Bartosak and Rhyse Dieno are the other 20-year old players on the Rebels roster.
