Tailgate Party Plans Announced

September 17, 2013, Brandon, MB (ISN) – The Keystone Centre and the Brandon Wheat Kings are pleased to announce plans for the 2013 Home Opener Tailgate Party, to be held before this Saturday’s Western Hockey League regular season opener against the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors at Westman Communications Group Place.

The barbecue, which will begin at 4:00pm will be located inside the Keystone Centre’s Convention Hall. In addition to some delicious food and drink, the Keystone has confirmed that there will also be a children’s play area available from 4-7:15pm.

In addition to face painting, inflatables and games, the Keystone Centre has confirmed that music in the Hockey House will be provided by The Ukadians.

Saturday’s Tailgate Party has been made possible through the generous support of Molson and Sysco. 94.7 Star FM will be on location between 4:30 – 6:30 pm.

“The Keystone Centre is highly anticipating this 2013/2014 Hockey Season. With an extremely successful pre-season under their belt the regular season will be just as impressive,” says Keystone Centre General Manager Neil Thomson. “We are thrilled to help celebrate the beginning of the season with a tailgate party, providing Wheat Kings fans with an electric pre-game experience.”

In addition to the Tailgate Party, fans are encouraged to get to their seats early as the Wheat Kings have a number of special guests and events planned as part of the pre-game festivities. Among them will be a special guest to perform the national anthem. More on that will be announced in the next two days.

As well, the first 2,500 fans in attendance at the game will receive a special Wheat Kings Glow Stick, presented by The Brandon Sun – Your Home Page in Print and online.
