September 18, 2013, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – The big day is almost here as the Saskatoon Blades enter into a new era, while also celebrating the 50th season in franchise history!
That takes place on Friday night with the annual tradition of the Blades home and home set with the Prince Albert Raiders. The puck drops at 7:05 PM on Friday night at the Credit Union Centre to get the season underway against the rival Raiders.
But, the game isn’t the only thing that fans and the people of Saskatoon can look forward to. The Blades are extremely happy to be putting on a special 50th anniversary season tailgate party to get the year off on the right foot. The party gets underway in the front parking lot of the Credit Union Centre at 5:00 PM. Highlights of the fun night include:
– Live entertainment from the band Thunder Rose
– Beer gardens
– Games for kids
– Face painting
– Blades 50th birthday cake
Once the barbecue is over and the fans are packed into the Credit Union Centre, even more fun gets underway. The Blades will introduce their new owner to the fans, unveil the 2013-14 roster with dynamic special effects and also raise the 2012-13 Eastern Division banner.
The Blades finished the 2013-14 exhibition schedule with a 1-1-1-1 record. Among that was a great ending to their four games as they dumped the Prince Albert Raiders 7-2 in Warman this past Saturday. The team is riding momentum and is ready to drop the puck.
With the new ownership in Saskatoon comes new direction, new ideas and a fresh plan for 2013-14. Make sure you are part of the action. Season tickets for the year are still available. Get pricing and ticket information at www.saskatoonblades.com.
