September 24, 2013, Seattle, WA (ISN) – Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced defenseman Shea Theodore has signed a three-year-entry level contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
Theodore was selected by the Ducks in the first round, 26th overall, at the 2013 NHL Draft in New Jersey.
Theodore has appeared in three preseason games for Anaheim, collecting one assist. The 6-1, 183-pound defenseman led all Anaheim skaters in time-on-ice on September 22 vs. Colorado, logging 22:06. Theodore made his Anaheim debut in the club’s first preseason game, earning an assist in the 6-2 win over Phoenix on September 16 at Honda Center.
Last season Theodore had 50 points on 19 goals and 31 assists in 71 games for the T-Birds. He played in all seven playoff games against the Kelowna Rockets in the first round and had two assists.
Theodore was a member of Team Canada that won the gold medal at the U-18 World Championships held in Sochi, Russia, from April 16 to April 28. He also was a member of the gold medal winning Team Canada team at the 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament in the Czech Republic and Slovakia last summer.
The T-Birds next game is Wednesday, September 25, when they travel to Vancouver to take on the Giants at Pacific Coliseum at 7pm. They are back home on Friday, September 27, to play the Tri-City Americans at 7:35pm at ShoWare Center.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2013-14 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
