Canada to host Uruguay, USA and Argentina in Men’s International Rugby Tournament

October 1, 2013, LANGFORD, BC.(ISN) – Rugby Canada is happy to once again host the IRB Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) taking place at the Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence and Westhills Stadium in Langford, BC with game days schedule for October 11, 15, and 19. Canada will play host to USA, Argentina, and Uruguay throughout the three game-night tournament.

Please find below a summary of media events surrounding the ARC:

October 3: RUGBY on “The Leg” – 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Rugby Canada is happy to be hosting a friendly rugby game on the front lawn of the Victoria Parliament buildings. Playing in the game will be Rugby Canada athletes, local politicians, VIPs, board members and members of the media.

October 11: Game Day 1

  •  USA vs. Argentina at 6:00pm
  •  Canada vs. Uruguay at 8:00pm

October 12: Uruguay Outreach at Velox Rugby Club/WHL Hockey Game

  • Uruguayan team will work with Velox youth rugby program in teaching and developing fundamental skills from 2pm – 4pm.
  •  Uruguay, USA and Argentina to attend Victoria Royals versus Lethbridge Hurricanes WHL Game

October 13: Canada Outreach at Cowichan Rugby Club

Canadian team will work with Cowichan youth rugby program in teaching and developing fundamental skills. After the skills session the Canadian team will join the Cowichan Rugby program upstairs for a thanksgiving dinner. Event takes place from 2:30pm – 6:00pm.

October 14: Teams’ Captains Runs

October 15: Game Day 2

 Argentina vs. Uruguay at 6:00pm

 Canada vs. USA at 8:00pm

October 17: Canada Meet & Greet and Autograph Session

 5:00pm – 6:15pm at the Westhills Stadium

 Canada will answer fans’ questions, sign autograph and pose for photos

 BBQ will be provided for fans, media

October 18: Teams’ Captains Runs

October 19: Game Day 3

USA vs. Uruguay at 3:00pm 

 Canada vs. Argentina at 5:00pm
