Cougars announce charity team jerseys auction

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is excited to announce its first-ever online jersey fundraiser auction.

At our season opener game on September 27th, the team wore retro jerseys which are now being made available to the public via an online auction. All proceeds from the auction will go to support the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

To participate in the auction, fans should visit, where a total of 25 jerseys are available for viewing and bidding.

The jersey auction is part of the team’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. At the team’s home season opener game on Friday September 27th, the Prince George Cougars announced that $43,130.43 was raised from the second annual Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament that was held earlier this summer at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club. A cheque was presented to representatives of the Foundation in the opening night ceremony at that game.

“Our team has been a proud supporter of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation for many years”, says Brandi Brodsky, Cougars Vice-President. “Our entire organization is honoured by the opportunity to support the foundation through our fundraising efforts. We are thrilled to have them as a partner, and encourage all Cougars fans to join this worthwhile initiative by bidding on the jerseys.”

“We are so pleased to be the charity of choice for the Prince George Cougars retro jersey auction”, says Judy Neiser, C.E.O., Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “This is a new concept. It’s exciting, and a terrific way for the public and our valued donors to not only support bringing the best of care close to home in the north through their donations, but also have a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia from the Prince George Cougars.”

The auction closes on October 24, 2013, noon Pacific Time.
