Clan open season at Saint Martin’s Invitational

October 5, 2013, Lacey, WA – After the first round of play at the Saint Martin’s University Invitational the Simon Fraser University women’s golf team sits in eighth spot.

Leading the team is senior captain Nicky Jordan (Sidney, BC) who shot an 84 in round one, putting her in a tie for 23rd overall.

The sole Clan freshman at the tournament, Erin Farner (Calgary, AB), followed Jordan in 32nd place, shooting an 88 on the day.

The tournament marks Farner’s first collegiate appearance.

Finishing four strokes behind her, sophomore Rochelle Rozensoff (Surrey, BC) sits in a tie for 37th, shooting a 92 in the first round of the season.

Rounding out the five Clan women were Jennifer McTeer (Creston, BC) and Kristin Jorgenson (Prince George, BC) who carded scores of 95 and 101 to finish in 39th and 41st places respectively.

The Clan women will play the second and final round Saturday morning. Tee-off is at 10:00 a.m.
