October 6, 2013, VANCOUVER, BC. – The Cariboo Cougars were looking for their second sweep of the season but the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds had other ideas.

The T-birds would open the scoring less than 5 minutes in. After that the Cats would get into penalty trouble. Fraser Valley would make them pay scoring twice on the man advantage to grab a 3-0 lead.

Bryan Allbee would cut it to 3-1 at the end of the first.

In the second the Thunderbirds would restore their two goal lead less than 3 minutes in. They would then go ahead 5-1. The Cats would counter with a hilight reel goal by Chase Dubois but would trail 5-2 after 40.

In the third Donovan Law would make it 5-3 but the Thunderbirds would add an empty netter for a 6-3 final score. The Cats lose for the first time and fall to three and one on the season.

Next action for the cariboo cougars is October 12 on the road against the North East Chiefs at 4:15 p.m. The following day the teams will square of at 11:45 a.m. The Cougars return to home ice October 19th against the Valley West Hawks.
