October 5, 2013, London, Ontario—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team have dropped their second exhibition game on their Ontario weekend tour.

Playing Saturday (Oct 5) in London, Ontario, the ‘Pack were on the short end of a 63-60 decision to the host Western Mustangs.

“We were down as much as 11 with three or four minutes to go,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Reeves. “But we had a chance to tie it at the end.”

The WolfPack were led by Kassie Colonna (2nd year, forward, Invermere, BC) who had 20 points and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes of court time.

“She was a force,” Reeves added. ” We had a better effort than last night but we are giving up too many rebounds and we have to improve.’

Reeves also praised rookie Sydney Williams (guard, Langley, BC). ” She had to guard one of Western’s better shooters and held her to five points,” he stated.

Williams wound up with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The WolfPack close out their tour on Sunday with a noon match up with the Brock University Badgers.

They return home to host their own tournament next weekend (Oct 11-13) which sees the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves, Trinity Western University Spartans and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat coming into the Tournament Capital Centre.

Thompson Rivers kicks off their 2013-14 Canada West regular season on Friday, November 1st at the TCC against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Tip off is 6 pm. Proceeds from the gate go to the CIBC Run For The Cure.
