October 11, 2013, VANCOUVER (ISN) – Make it two games and two wins for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team. Playing at an exhibition tournament at the University of British Columbia, the WolfPack downed the Concordia Stingers of Montreal, Quebec 79-68 on Friday (Oct 11).
“I thought our guys battled back from some adversity which was a positive sign,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark. Clark is referring to some discrepancies on the score clock in the first quarter . ” We didn’t let it bother us, but for us to compete with the top teams in our league, we have to do a better job of defensive rebounding.”
TheWolfPack were up 20-15 after the first quarter and led 37-34 at the half.
They scored 34 points in the “paint” compared to Concordia’s 16.
Reese Pribilsky (3rd year, guard, Victoria, BC) had 28 points to lead the WolfPack.
TRU got 22 points from Ta’Quan Zimmerman (3rd year, guard, Waterbury, CT) . Tallon Milne (4th year, forward, Vanderhoof, BC) added 10 points and five rebounds.
Concordia was led by Mukiya Post who had 25 points.
The WolfPack have one final exhibition game at the tournament. It comes up tomorrow (Sat Oct 12) against Concordia University of Portland, Oregon. Tip off is 3 pm.
Thompson Rivers is back home on Friday October 19 th. They have an exhibition game against the Vancouver Island University Mariners of PACWEST. Tip off is 8 pm.
The 2013-14 Canada West season opener is set for November 1 st against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Game time at the Tournament Capital Centre is 8 pm
