Swimming Canada supports partner in transition

OTTAWA – Swimming Canada would like to acknowledge the efforts of outgoing Masters Swimming Canada Executive Director Nancy Black and express its support for the organization.

The national governing body for Masters Swimming in Canada announced Black’s resignation Tuesday. Brigitte Zirger will replace her in the interim.

“Masters Swimming Canada is an important partner of Swimming Canada, and masters swimmers make up an important community within the swimming family,” said Swimming Canada CEO Ahmed El-Awadi.

“As the organization continues to build on Nancy’s hard work in the future, Swimming Canada will be there to support in any capacity.”

Swimming Canada believes that every individual in the sport of swimming should be able to reach his or her maximum potential in fitness and excellence. To that end, Swimming Canada supports the efforts of Masters Swimming for the purpose of program development, coaching development and competition.

“We wish Nancy well in her future endeavours and look forward to assisting Masters Swimming Canada during this time of transition,” El-Awadi said.
